Song: Majesty
Scripture: Acts 12:20-24
"Then immediately an angel of the Lord struck him, because he did not give glory to God. And he was eaten by worms and died" (Acts 12:23).
Perhaps the chief end of man is to give glory to God. "If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him to it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen" (1 Peter 4:11).
Herod failed to glorify God and "he was eaten by worms and died." Ultimately, if we fail to glorify God we will spend eternity where the "worm does not die, And the fire is not quenched" (Mark 9:44, 46, 48). Let us be about the business of glorifying God in all that we think, say, and do.
