Tuesday night Robert Harkrider spoke to us from 1 John 4. "Truth or Consequences" challenged us to be honest with 1 John 4:1-6. The Scriptures say it matters what we believe and practice.
If we desire God's approval:
1. Doctrine matters (1 John 4:1-6).
2. Our actions matter (1 John 1:5-6).
3. What and who we love matters (1 John 2:15-17; 4:7-8, 20-21)
It matters how we handle differences:
1. Believe not every spirit (1 John 4:1).
2. Realize that some will depart (1 John 2:19; 1 Timothy 4:1-2)
3. Refuse false teachers (2 John 9-11; Romans 16:17)
