The Devil's Desire and Me

Scripture: 1 Peter 5

"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world." (1 Peter 5:8-9)

Four things to do in light of the Devil's desire:

1. Be sober - to abstain from wine (Strong's).

2. Be vigilant - to watch, i. e. give strict attention to, be cautious, active (Thayer's).

3. Resist him - stand against, oppose (Strong's).

4. Be steadfast in the faith - firm, solid, compact, hard, rigid (Thayer's).
