Scripture: Luke 5:1-11
When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, "Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord!" (Luke 5:8). As the boats began to fill with fish Peter began to realize something. Jesus was different. Wholly different. Completely set apart from sin. Totally unlike Peter, a man who confesses to be full of sin.
Jesus responds to Peter's realization with these words: "Do not be afraid" (Luke 5:10). Although His holiness is terrifying He invites Peter near. He provides him the opportunity to share in His sanctified work. He allows Peter to forsake all and follow Him.
See His holiness. Fall before Him broken and contrite. Allow Him to relieve your fear and put you to His work. Peter did. You can too.
