Remember Lot's Wife

Song: The Great Redeemer

Scripture: Luke 17:20-37

As we contemplate the judgment that awaits us, we would do well to remember these words of Jesus, "Remember Lot's wife" (Luke 17:32).

An angel warned Lot and his family of the judgment that was coming upon the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. They were commanded not to look behind themselves as they escaped to the mountains. "But his wife looked back behind him, and she became a pillar of salt" (Genesis 19:26).

As Lot's wife was being delivered she disobeyed and was lost. Lot's wife was destroyed on the very threshold of deliverance. As the Son of Man delivers me I must "Remember Lot's wife" and obey and be saved. May I always be "looking forward" to His coming and my salvation (2 Peter 3:14).
